Being in the Presence of God:
Where Christian and Celtic Spirituality Join
Join us as we become aware of the “thin places” in our lives, and we encounter the Holy. The veil lifts, and heaven and earth meet. We are standing on holy ground. The Celts had a keen sense for these mystical spots of place, time, and relationship with each other and the Holy in day to day lives.
Join us for a weekend of Celtic Christian spirituality as we experience worship, praying the days and experiencing nature in the Celtic Tradition. Our speaker, MJ, has recently traveled to the Scottish Isle of Iona, experiencing worship with The Ecumenical Iona Community, and visiting sacred sites in Ireland.
Over the weekend, we’ll worship, sing, chant, craft, ground ourselves in creation and the importance of justice and peace in our world. Together we’ll “visit” ancient sites and meet Celts old and new.

The Rev. MJ Leewis-Kirk
The Rev. MJ Leewis-Kirk has recently returned to the Anglican Diocese of Calgary having served in the Diocese of Rupert’s Land, and most recently The Diocese of BC, Islands, and Inlets. MJ returns to Images as our 2023 speaker and worship leader, having walked with us as a weekend speaker in 2015. MJ offers unique ways of leading women in their faith experience. At this weekend, expect to be made aware of the Celtic connection with creation, and of stumbling into thin places where you least expect them..
